On December 12, the Teen Leads Club met with the Bergen LEADS for an informal pizza luncheon to learn how both groups can further their initiatives to volunteer and better Bergen County.
Bergen LEADS is an organization that has a panel of leaders who discuss important issues regarding New Jersey, specifically Bergen County. They focus on understanding the way the county works and often go on field trips to get a one-on-one experience of the organizations that help making the county function.
This is very similar to Applied Tech’s Teen Leads group, but on a bigger scale. By meeting with them, the students were able to discuss the places Teen Leads visited and what their future plans to volunteer include.
After the meeting ended, group members gathered around the Bergen Leads members and had interesting conversations about the clubs or even societal issues. Overall, it was a very informative and productive luncheon and Teen Leads is looking forward to continuing its efforts to make the community a better place.
