SUEZ & Ridgewood Water Company Trip

Before visiting SUEZ and Ridgewood Water on the Teen Leads trip, I viewed water as primitive and basic in terms of life necessities. I didn’t give any real thought into the journey water goes through in order to flow out of the faucet or to be in a water bottle.

So, on March 20, 2018, I attended the Teen Leads trip with an open mind to learn about our water system in Bergen County.

On the trip, the Teen Leads  members toured these local water distributors, and observes the multiple sanitation steps that our water is run through. Having the ability to view and understand the processes in which our water is put through, is very informative.

After our visit to SUEZ and Ridgewood Water, I  left noticing how much we actually rely on water to be available at all times. Along with being more aware of my constant usage of water, I learned how beneficial drinking tap water is in comparison to bottled water. I am now aware of the regulations and accessibility our water is put through, which shows how complex the distribution of water actually is.
